Compensation to be provided to meat and milk producers through the cooperative method

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A resolution of the President “On measures to further develop livestock breeding and strengthen the fodder base of livestock” was adopted.

In 2022-2024, 751,916 cattle will be raised in 310 livestock complexes of the cotton-textile, grain and rice clusters.

In 2022-2023, at least 1 enterprise for the production and processing of meat and milk in each district will supply livestock to the population in a cooperative way, the grown products will be processed and sold.

In accordance with the resolution, economic entities that have established the production and processing of meat and milk in a cooperative way, in the livestock direction:

for allocated loans up to 20 billion soums, compensation is provided for a part of the interest rate exceeding the main rate of the Central Bank, but not more than 8 percent, as well as a guarantee in the amount of 50 percent of the loan amount;

credit funds attracted by international financial institutions are allocated for a period of 10 years with a grace period of 3 years.

From 1 January  2022 to 31 December 2023:

livestock farms that are VAT payers, the amount of the subsidy is increased from 2,000 to 4,000 soums per kilogram of live weight of cattle and small ruminants grown in their own farms and jointly with the households of the population in a cooperative way and sold for meat, and from 200 to 400 soums for a liter of milk;

at the expense of the republican budget, more than 10 percentage points of expenses on loans and leasing of agricultural equipment purchased by livestock farms on the terms of credit and leasing will be reimbursed;

livestock farms that have introduced rain and drip irrigation technologies on land areas of forage crops will receive a subsidy in the amount of 8 million soums per hectare;

20% of the cost of purchasing equipment for growing feed

for livestock using the hydroponics method is covered by the republican budget. Wherein,

part of the cost of this equipment will be reimbursed, not exceeding 100 million soums.

Agricultural machinery for sowing, collecting fodder crops and forage preparation, components for it and spare parts for it, imported from abroad according to the relevant list, the production period of which does not exceed 5 years, are exempted, as an exception, until 1 March 2025 from payment of customs duties (except for VAT and customs clearance fees) and disposal fees and may pay VAT with a delay of up to 180 days.
