Commission Reviews Investment Projects in Yangi Avlod Zone

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A government commission visited facilities in Tashkent’s Yangihayot district to assess the progress of key investment projects being implemented in the Yangi Avlod special industrial zone.

During the visit, officials reviewed infrastructure and financial issues that are slowing the launch of enterprises and their transition to full production capacity.

The commission examined projects including the production of JAC vehicles, the development of the DPW Tashkent multimodal logistics terminal, the manufacturing of disposable medical products by Health Line, as well as the overall development dynamics of the industrial zone.

The total investment in the projects is estimated at US$835 million, with plans to create about 9,000 jobs.

Particular attention was given to accelerating the relocation of a high-pressure gas pipeline and 110 kV power transmission lines, as well as connecting facilities to external engineering infrastructure.

The JAC Motors Tashkent project, valued at US$135 million, is designed to produce up to 30,000 vehicles annually. The first phase of production is scheduled to begin in 2026, with expected exports of about US$5 million.

The DPW Tashkent project, worth US$288 million, предусматривает создание мультимодального логистического терминала with Class A automated warehouses capable of handling up to 157,000 containers and providing 60,000 square meters of storage space. The project is expected to create 345 jobs.

The Health Line project, valued at US$50 million, aims to produce 1.4 billion disposable medical products annually and create 520 jobs.

The commission also visited the US$25 million Ogneupor plant producing refractory materials, as well as the Accord Vision project for the production of Comfi confectionery products.

Following the visit, officials issued instructions regarding gas and electricity supply, credit support mechanisms, and the phased settlement of compensation payments.

Implementation of projects in the Yangi Avlod zone is expected to expand industrial output, create new jobs, and strengthen export capacity, contributing to the economic development of the region.
