Commission on Youth Affairs established in Uzbekistan’s Legislative Chamber
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan has approved the establishment of a Commission on Youth Affairs, aiming to enhance parliamentary involvement in youth policy initiatives.
Over the past years, Uzbekistan has made significant progress in implementing state youth policy, developing a new support system to protect young people's rights and interests as a key government priority. More than 100 legislative acts have been adopted to strengthen the legal framework governing youth-related matters.
The newly formed Commission will facilitate greater parliamentary oversight and contribute to expanding education, employment, and civic engagement opportunities for young people. Lawmakers emphasized that the Commission will also work to enhance youth legal literacy, develop legislative proposals, and monitor law enforcement in the sector.
The meeting concluded with the approval of the Commission’s composition.
