Commemorative Exhibition Opens in Tashkent for the 120th Anniversary of Ural Tansykbayev

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 3 September, the Uzbekistan Gallery of Fine Arts hosted the grand opening of a commemorative exhibition marking the 120th anniversary of the birth of the renowned artist and one of the founders of Uzbek painting, Ural Tansykbayev.

The ceremony was attended by Gayane Umerova, Chairperson of the Cultural and Art Development Fund; Sodik Safoyev, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis; Beybut Atamkulov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan; the exhibition curator Zelfira Tregulova; as well as representatives of the cultural and artistic communities from both countries.

The exhibition features 124 works from the collections of major museums in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, many of which are being presented to the public for the first time. The artworks showcase the diversity of the master’s creative legacy, his contribution to the formation and development of national painting, and his unique vision of the nature and daily life of Central Asia.

The exhibition will be open to visitors until 20 November 2025.

Admission is free.
