CNPC to conduct exploration at two investment blocks in Uzbekistan

On Monday, CNPC and Uzbekneftegaz national holding company signed a memorandum of understanding on studying opportunities on conducting geologic exploration and mining of hydrocarbons at Boisun and Surkhan investment blocks in southern Uzbekistan.

The document was signed within the visit of the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping to Uzbekistan.

The memorandum envisages creation of a working group, which will develop a plan of work on implementation of the project. By the end of 2013, the sides can sign an agreement on holding exploration works.
