CNPC Appoints Special Representative for Cooperation with Uzbekneftegaz

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The head of CNPC has appointed his deputy as a special representative to coordinate with JSC “Uzbekneftegaz,” marking a key outcome of the recent meeting between the delegations of the two companies, the press service of Uzbekneftegaz reported.

During the first working session with the new CNPC representative, all issues related to current and prospective cooperation were discussed in detail.

It is noted that in 2026 Uzbekistan will launch a historically significant program for the oil and gas sector, primarily focused on large-scale 3D seismic surveys and accelerated drilling operations. Special attention is being given to establishing long-term cooperation with international partners.

At present, the signing of a three-year contract with BGP for 3D seismic work is in its final stages, negotiations continue with CIBU on drilling operations, and with CNLC on geological and geophysical studies.

Discussions also covered the supply of technological equipment, including drilling rigs, pipes, drill bits, and components, through CNPC enterprises. An important part of the cooperation is attracting additional financial resources for project implementation, including mutually beneficial and flexible financing mechanisms.

The agenda included conducting geological and exploration seismic surveys and procuring drilling equipment.

Following the meeting, the Chairman of the Board of JSC Uzbekneftegaz, Abdugani Sanginov, confirmed the company’s readiness to implement the agreements reached, ensure comfortable conditions for investors and partners, and further develop long-term, stable, and mutually beneficial cooperation with CNPC.
