Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - A meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS member states has begun in Tashkent, which is being held in the form of video conferencing as part of the Chairmanship of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Foreign Ministry press service said.
The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov attended by the heads of the foreign affairs agencies of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, as well as the Chairman of the Executive Committee - CIS Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev.
During the event, the parties exchange views on pressing issues of the international agenda and interaction in the Commonwealth format, discuss the implementation of the Plan of multilevel inter-MFA consultations within the CIS for 2019 and the Plan for 2020, as well as ways to jointly counteract the spread of coronavirus.
Following the meeting, it is planned to sign a number of documents.
