Chinese magazine "Beijing Review" publishes articles about the priority directions of development of New Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A special section has been published on the pages of the authoritative Chinese magazine Beijing Review, which presents a series of articles on Uzbekistan’s achievements in the country’s socio-economic development, priorities of domestic and foreign policy for the coming years, as well as the results Sino-Uzbek relations over 30 years of diplomatic relations, the interaction of the parties within the framework of international and regional structures, such as the UN, SCO and others.

The material notes that under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in recent years, Uzbekistan has transformed into a stable and dynamically developing state. A high assessment is given to the results of large-scale reforms in the spheres of the economy, public administration, judicial and legal and other areas.

"Beijing Review" also introduces readers to the "Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan 2022-2026", which covers priority goals and objectives in all areas of the country’s political and socio-economic development.

The following article reveals the foreign policy of Uzbekistan, including the current results of the implementation of the initiatives of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev aimed at strengthening friendly, good neighborly and mutually beneficial relations with the countries of Central Asia.

It is noted that thanks to the new regional policy of Uzbekistan in Central Asia, cooperation between the countries of the region in the field of politics, security, economy, transport and other areas has been noticeably intensified. It is emphasized that active regional cooperation based on friendship and mutual benefit has become a new positive turning point in the modern history of Central Asia.

Within the framework of the new strategy, the main task remains the further strengthening of good neighborly relations and strategic partnership, primarily with the countries of Central Asia. Among the priorities of Uzbekistan in the field of foreign policy is the creation of a belt of security, stability and good neighborliness around the country.

The publication highly appreciates the current trend of deepening Chinese-Uzbek multifaceted cooperation in almost all areas. A key factor in this dynamic development of bilateral cooperation is an active political dialogue at the highest level.

Special attention was focused on the achievements of cooperation between the two countries in the trade, economic and investment spheres. China is the largest export market for Uzbek goods. In 2021, the share of China in the total volume of foreign trade of Uzbekistan amounted to 17.7%. There is not only a quantitative, but also a qualitative change in the structure of mutual trade.

“The annual growth of Chinese investments in Uzbekistan is in the range of 40-50%. Today, Chinese direct investment is present in almost all sectors of the Uzbek economy. Among them are the oil and gas industry, the chemical industry, the production of building materials, pharmaceuticals, the agricultural sector, light industry and others,” Beijing Review writes.

The publication emphasizes that another of the most important factors that made it possible to fully realize the existing opportunities for bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and China were the processes of liberalization of the national economy, which opened all the doors to expand investment and trade cooperation between the two countries.

Other materials reflect the prospects for cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism, the results of cooperation between Uzbekistan and China within the framework of the SCO, as well as the priority goals of our country during the presidency of this Organization.
