Chinese Experts Propose Training Uzbek Pharmacists and Knowledge Exchange
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The “Uzbekistan – China” Trade, Economic, and Investment Forum is currently underway in Beijing, with a delegation led by A. Azizov, Director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry.
As part of the forum, several working meetings were held with leading Chinese companies and research centers.
During discussions with China Meheco Group Co., Ltd., the delegation presented opportunities in Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical sector, the conditions created in pharmaceutical free economic zones, and proposals to stimulate local production. Prospects for producing insulin, active pharmaceutical ingredients, and intermediates in Uzbekistan were also discussed. The Chinese side proposed training Uzbek specialists and sharing expertise.
Negotiations with China National Biotec Group Co. Limited (Sinopharm) focused on a project for developing vaccines against various diseases in Uzbekistan. Topics included selecting local partners, organizing joint production facilities, and investing in the sector.
In a meeting with Zhang Baowei, Chairman of the Entrepreneurial Technology Center at Tianjin University of Science and Technology, possibilities were explored for attracting Chinese pharmaceutical companies to Uzbekistan, equipping laboratories with modern equipment, and implementing projects funded by Chinese grants.
The forum aims to strengthen cooperation between Uzbekistan and China in the pharmaceutical industry, introduce advanced technologies, and develop joint production of medicines.
