China’s Shandong to Modernize Two Substations in Tashkent Under EPC Contract
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Joint Stock Company “National Electric Grids of Uzbekistan” has signed a contract with the Chinese company Shandong Electrical Engineering & Equipment Group Co., Ltd. to carry out a full range of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) works for the “Zafar” and “Faizobod” 220 kV substations located in Tashkent.
The project involves a comprehensive modernization of these energy facilities, transitioning to advanced gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) systems, which meet modern standards for reliability and environmental safety.
The implementation of the project is expected to significantly reduce the impact of human factors on operational processes, minimize the effects of adverse weather conditions, enhance the safety of maintenance personnel, and ensure stable functioning of the power infrastructure.
At the same time, the project will minimize environmental impact, improve the aesthetic appearance of the substations, and optimize operations through the deployment of state-of-the-art high-tech equipment.
This initiative represents a key milestone in the ongoing modernization of Uzbekistan’s national power system and will contribute to its stable and efficient long-term performance.
