China Everbright Establishes Joint Ventures for Waste-to-Energy Projects in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — China Everbright Environment Group Limited has announced the establishment of joint ventures with the Uzbek company Maxsus and CR No.17 Second Engineering to form two project companies in Uzbekistan.
The new companies will focus on investing in, designing, constructing, operating, and maintaining facilities for converting municipal solid waste into energy.
Under the terms of the agreement, China Everbright International will hold an 88% stake in each of the joint ventures.
As part of the project, two plants will be constructed in Namangan and Fergana regions, each with a projected cost of US$283 million. Once operational, the facilities are expected to process 1.095 million tons of waste annually and generate 455 million kWh of electricity, sufficient to supply around 26,000 households.
