Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Some 12,000 packages of the drugs with such a vital trace element as zinc will be delivered to children in a number of regions of Uzbekistan by the National Chamber of Innovative Health. The first batch was received to Navoi region on 24 December.

To implement the next stage of its Program on Health Education and Support of the Regions, the National Chamber continued a dialogue with new partners, analysis of relevant topics for informing the population, with special attention to the younger generation.

The topic of the meeting between the Chairman of the National Chamber of Commerce Rovshan Izamov and the khokim of Navoi region of Kabul Tursunov was not only the participation of the region in this Program, but also the discussion of opportunities for cooperation in the field of medical tourism, the development of the regional health infrastructure, attracting foreign investments and innovative medical technologies to the field. In particular, they discussed the possibilities of opening a modern phlebological service in the region with the support of Russian investments.

Within the framework of the visit, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the National Chamber and the khokimiyat of Navoi region with the aim of implementing joint projects in the field of medicine.

For the transfer of the zinc-containing preparation, 6-7 regions of the country were selected, where it is planned, as in Navoi region, to implement the event in cooperation with members of the regional leadership. A target group was selected - younger students (grades 1-4) with a focus on remote settlements in the regions. 1.5 thousand packages intended for Navoi region will receive 1.5 thousand children. The event was organized jointly with the domestic manufacturer Jurabek Laboratories and is aimed at disseminating the necessary medical knowledge among the widest sections of the population, especially children and parents.

Today, a trace element such as zinc is receiving close attention due to the fact that it is included in the treatment of patients with mild Covid-19. Zinc is essential for maintaining the body’s immune defenses and normal growth, which is especially important for children. Under various conditions associated with a deficiency of zinc intake into the body, as a rule, there is a slowdown in bone growth. Therefore, measures aimed at the development of medical education of the population, in particular, those living in remote areas, are now a necessity.

The distribution of drugs will be accompanied by specialists from the territorial divisions of the National Chamber, operating in each region, who will conduct educational work and will be able to answer questions from children, parents, teachers.

Considering the great importance that Uzbekistan attaches to the comprehensive development of the younger generation, the National Chamber continues to develop and implement projects in this direction.
