Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The President of Uzbekistan has signed a resolution titled “On Measures for the Socio-Economic Development of the Republic of Karakalpakstan in 2026 and the Approval of Programs for Subsequent Years,” aimed at supporting the population and stimulating business activity in the region.
Starting from 1 April 2026, residents of the Karatau and Bestobe mahallas in the city of Nukus will benefit from a 50 percent reduction coefficient applied to parental fees for children attending state-run preschool institutions. This measure is intended to ease the financial burden on families and expand access to early childhood education.
For entrepreneurs operating in the hotel sector and in shopping complexes with an area exceeding 5,000 square meters, the resolution introduces a 90 percent reduction in land and property tax rates from 1 January 2027 through 1 January 2040. These incentives are designed to attract investment and promote the development of commercial facilities in the region.
In addition, until 1 January 2028, assets held on the balance sheets of commercial banks in Karakalpakstan are to be sold at market value, with provisions for direct sales and interest-free installment plans of up to ten years following asset revaluation.
Buyers who pay the full purchase price within six months will be eligible for a 25 percent discount on the total contract value.
Experts note that this package of measures creates favorable conditions for both families and businesses while contributing to the strengthening of the region’s economic infrastructure.
