Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting between the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic, Major General Erlis Terdikbaev, who arrived in our country on a practical visit, and the First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, General Major Shukhrat Khalmukhamedov.

During the meeting, the chiefs of the general staffs of the Armed Forces of both countries emphasized the friendly relations established between Uzbekistan and the Kyrgyz Republic and expressed confidence that their scope would continue to expand. It should be noted that the agreement signed during the meeting on the organization of training of military personnel of the Kyrgyz Republic in higher military educational institutions of Uzbekistan was another step in this direction.

Further, the guests of honor, accompanied by Major General Shukhrat Khalmukhamedov, visited the Academy of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The head of the academy, Colonel Bobur Shayakubov, acquainted the guests with the activities of the higher educational institution.

– My visit to the Academy of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan is very important for the cooperation agreement signed today. Because, a close acquaintance with the conditions created in the leading higher educational institution of our region is one of the main tasks included in the agenda of my visit. Of particular importance is the fact that the beginning of a new stage of cooperation between the ministries of defense of our countries in the field of military education is connected precisely with this educational institution, - said Major General Erlis Terdikbaev.

In the course of familiarization with the conditions created at the Academy, educational processes and exhibits of the museum, Erlis Terdikbaev highly appreciated the attention paid by our government to the field of military education.

In the afternoon, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic visited the enterprise of the State Committee for the Defense Industry of Uzbekistan and the Chirchik Aviation Repair Plant. The practical visit of Major General Erlis Terdikbaev to our country will last three days.
