Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 3 November, another prestigious international forum began its work - the II Economic Forum of Uzbekistan on the topic: "Human interests at the center of economic reforms."

The opening ceremony of the forum, held at the tourist center "Silk Road Samarkand", was attended by the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration, press secretary Sherzod Asadov, Vice President of the World Bank Anna Berde and Vice President of the Asian Bank development of Shihin Chen.

Sherzod Asadov read out the address of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the participants of the event and stressed the importance of expanding mutual relations and exchanging views with international partners.

It was noted that since the first economic forum of Uzbekistan, geopolitical tensions, disruption of supply chains, natural disasters caused by climate change, high inflation and other problems have caused many difficulties even for the strongest economies in the world.

The Chairman of the Senate also focused on the importance of the economic forum, the conditions and opportunities created in our country for entrepreneurs.

In particular, Tanzila Narbayeva emphasized that “for Uzbekistan, the importance of this forum is invaluable. Thanks to the rational, open and pragmatic policy of the country, Uzbekistan is now increasingly acting as a major international platform for dialogue and exchange of views, leading economists of the world, representatives of major international organizations, as well as specialists who carry out systematic work in our country in this area. .

The head of state always emphasizes the idea that the main essence of reforms is to ensure the honor and dignity of a person, the interests of the people.

To fulfill this priority task, we need to consistently develop and implement economic reforms in sync with the world's leading practices.

Economic reforms must be accompanied by a clearly oriented social policy and a reliable mechanism for ensuring the rule of human rights.”

After the opening ceremony, the forum continued its work in the framework of panel sessions.

Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Chairperson of the Commission on Ensuring Gender Equality of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva also took part in a panel discussion on the topic “Gender Equality, Support for Youth and Investment in the Future”, held as part of the economic forum.

In her speech, Narbayeva emphasized that “Today we systematically continue to improve the legal framework based on international standards. In this process, attention is paid to the use of gender expertise, the expansion of opportunities and guarantees for women, the implementation of norms related to the prevention of economic pressure on them.

To prevent various stereotypes related to ensuring gender equality, it is necessary to use the mass media and social networks, to widely promote its norms among the population.

It is also necessary to pay attention to the issues of training women in modern professions, especially in the field of information technology, programming, e-commerce and creating opportunities for work in this area,” she said.
