Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva has received Olga Algayerova, Executive Secretary of the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).

The parties discussed the state and prospects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UN.

It was noted that in recent years, bilateral relations and dialogue have reached a qualitatively new level.

It was emphasized that Uzbekistan attaches great importance to cooperation within the UN in all areas.

The issues of the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals for the period up to 2030, cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Commission, the implementation of joint projects, as well as the promotion of the United Nations Special Programme for Economies of Central Asia (SPECA) were considered.

The parties also discussed the proposal of the EEC to hold the Economic Forum and the 16th session of the SPECA Governing Council in Tashkent in November this year, as well as the first meeting of the SPECA Working Group on Investment and Financial Cooperation, the establishment of the SPECA Secretariat in Tashkent. The readiness to further deepen cooperation was reaffirmed. Views were exchanged on the issues of mutual interest.
