Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 4 February 2023, the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis met with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China Jiang Yan in connection with the completion of her diplomatic mission in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, it was noted that the established deep mutual understanding and close relations between the leaders of our countries determine the friendly and strategic nature of relations between Uzbekistan and China.

Tanzila Narbayeva noted that today relations between Uzbekistan and China are at the peak of their development, interaction has reached the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership based on the principles of mutual respect and consideration of each other’s interests.

In turn, Jiang Yan expressed her gratitude to the leadership of Uzbekistan for the high confidence placed in it and the creation of a favorable atmosphere for the successful implementation of the diplomatic mission, noted that she would continue to fully support the consistent reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan.

Also during the meeting, an exchange of views took place regarding the strengthening and development of inter-parliamentary cooperation. In particular, it was indicated that both sides fully support a constructive approach to enhancing the role of the parliaments of the two countries in the development of bilateral relations, ensuring parliamentary monitoring of the implementation of agreements at the highest level. Interest was especially expressed in intensifying the activities of the inter-parliamentary cooperation group, as well as in establishing a regular exchange of visits of parliamentary delegations of the two countries.

At the end of the meeting, noting the important contribution of Ambassador Jiang Yan to deepening and expanding the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China, the sides expressed confidence to continue constructive cooperation and close interaction between the two countries in the future.
