Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva is in the Arab Republic of Egypt to attend the 27th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, which is taking place in Sharm el-Sheikh.
During the visit, Tanzila Narbayeva held a number of bilateral meetings. In particular, a meeting was held in Cairo with the Chairman of the Senate of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel Wahab Abdel Razeq.
During the meeting, a number of issues of bilateral relations were discussed, in particular, issues of developing active cooperation in trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and parliamentary areas.
Tanzila Narbayeva noted that inter-parliamentary relations are one of the most important mechanisms for developing relations between our countries at all levels and expressed her readiness to develop interaction with the Egyptian Parliament, including establishing systemic parliamentary control over the implementation of tasks within the framework of the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level.
Abdel Wahab Abdel Razeq, in turn, noted with satisfaction that in recent years, interaction has risen to a new, higher level and great practical results are being achieved in various fields.
At the same time, the initiative to organize the first forum of women leaders of the parliaments of Arab and Muslim countries, which is planned to be held in Samarkand in 2023, was supported.
In addition, the importance of strengthening the legal basis for contacts between the parties and developing inter-parliamentary dialogue was noted.
During the dialogue, it was noted that the issue of comprehensive support for socially needy segments of the population, including women and youth, is one of the priority areas of state policy in both countries.
There was also an exchange of views on establishing cooperation and exchanging experience in these areas.
At the meeting, attention was also paid to relations in the cultural and humanitarian sphere.
During the dialogue, an agreement was reached on the development and implementation of a "road map" regulating the issues of further expansion and development of cooperation between the parties.
