Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 13 December, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva met with a delegation headed by Chairman of the Board of the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS countries, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Russian Federation Polad Bulbul oglu. The delegation arrived in Uzbekistan to take part in the XV Forum of Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia of the CIS countries.
It should be noted that the CIS Foundation is an international non-profit organization and was established in accordance with the Agreement dated May 25, 2006, signed by Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
The sides discussed the prospects for cooperation between Uzbekistan and the fund, and in particular, issues of strengthening multilateral ties in the field of culture, science, education, other humanitarian areas, and the implementation of joint projects in this direction.
The Chairperson of the Senate Tamzila Narbayeva stressed the need to effectively use the capabilities of the interstate structures of the CIS, primarily the Interstate Fund, to further strengthen and expand cultural and humanitarian cooperation for the benefit of our peoples.
P. Bulbul oglu, Chairman of the Board of the Foundation, outlined the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan and noted that he himself is witnessing cardinal changes taking place in all areas of activity, including in the cultural and humanitarian direction. According to him, this is evidence that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev pays great attention to science, culture and youth issues.
Also during the conversation, an exchange of views took place on establishing a permanent dialogue between the academic circles of the CIS member states.
