Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov took part in a meeting of the Council of Heads of Governments of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, which was held in the format of a videoconference.
According to the press service of the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, the meeting was chaired by Premier of the State Council of China Li Keqiang. The event was also attended by the heads of governments of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan. India and Pakistan were represented by their foreign ministers. Observer states of Belarus, Iran and Mongolia also joined the work of the SCO CGP. At the invitation of the chairman, Turkmenistan took part in the meeting.
During the meeting, a thorough exchange of views took place on the implementation of the results of the summit of the heads of SCO member states in Samarkand on September 15-16 this year.
Topical issues of further development of cooperation within the framework of the SCO were considered. Particular attention was paid to deepening cooperation in trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian spheres, including in the context of improving the activities of the organization at the present stage.
The meeting was attended by the SCO Secretary General, Director of the Executive Committee of the Organization's Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure.
As a result of the meeting, a Joint Communiqué and a number of other documents were signed, Dunyo news agency reports.
In the coming year, Kyrgyzstan will chair the Council of Heads of Governments of the SCO.
