Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 15 March 2021, the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbaeva met with the regional coordinator of the International Organization for Migration for Central Asia Zeynal Hajiyev.

During the meeting, issues of ensuring employment of the population in Uzbekistan, creating decent jobs and working conditions, work carried out on external migration, as well as tasks for the future were discussed. In particular, they talked about protecting the rights and interests of our citizens abroad, providing decent work, returning victims of human trafficking to the country, carrying out work in the field of illegal migration and other areas.

Zeynal Hajiyev noted that in recent years, the country has been carrying out large-scale reforms aimed at protecting the rights and improving the living conditions of migrant workers working abroad.

During the meeting, the current state of bilateral relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the International Organization for Migration and the possibilities of expanding the scale of cooperation, taking into account new directions, were discussed.

Following a fruitful dialogue, the parties expressed their readiness to jointly implement certain tasks for international cooperation, an agreement was reached on further intensifying contacts on mutually beneficial issues, expanding ties between the IOM and the relevant departments of Uzbekistan.
