Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 12 November 2021, Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbaeva met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Uzbekistan Amira Fahmy.

The Ambassador, thanking for the reception, noted that the presidential elections on 24 October were successful, open and transparent, with the participation of a large number of international observers. A high assessment was given to the work carried out in the country on cooperation with foreign countries.

It was noted that the development of multilateral and mutually beneficial relations with Arab countries, in particular with the Arab Republic of Egypt, is one of the priority directions of Uzbekistan's foreign policy.

Relations between Uzbekistan and Egypt continue to develop and the range of ties is expanding in the spirit of traditional friendship and mutual trust.

During the dialogue, the importance of developing cooperation in the political, trade, economic, investment, cultural and spiritual, tourism spheres, including in the field of pilgrim tourism, was emphasized.

Expansion of inter-parliamentary relations is important in the further development of relations between the two countries.

In this regard, the parties focused on the issues of enhancing the activities of friendship groups in the parliaments of the two countries.

During the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to cooperate in ensuring gender equality and protecting the rights and interests of women.
