Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 29 March this year, in Almaty, a delegation of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, headed by Chairwoman of the Senate Tanzila Narbayeva, took part in the anniversary meeting of the Council of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member States (IPA), dedicated to the 30th anniversary of this organization.
The meeting is also attended by the Chairman of the Council of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko, Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbaev, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sahiba Ali kyzy Gafarova, Chairman of the National Assembly of Armenia Alen Simonyan, Chairman of the National Council Supreme Assembly of the Republic of Tajikistan Rustam Emomali, as well as heads of parliamentary delegations of the IPA CIS member states, heads of international organizations.
At the beginning of the event, the heads of delegations read congratulations from the heads of state of the Commonwealth of Independent States. In particular, the Chairperson of the Senate focused the attention of the participants on the congratulatory message of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
It specifically notes that over the past period, the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly has become an important platform for discussing the most pressing issues of multifaceted cooperation between the Commonwealth countries.
It was emphasized that the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan actively participates in the activities of the Assembly and the strengthening of inter-parliamentary cooperation. Within the framework of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, Uzbekistan intends to continue active work to strengthen peace, stability, friendship, trust and good neighborliness between the Commonwealth countries.
