CERR Records Growth in Uzbekistan’s Primary Automotive Market
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Center for Economic Research and Reforms (CERR) has released an updated review of trends and the regional structure of Uzbekistan’s primary automotive market based on the results of 2025.
The analysis covers sales of new passenger vehicles of both domestic and foreign manufacture and reflects key changes across various market segments, including the electric vehicle market.
Over the course of 2025, sales of new passenger cars increased by 5.2 percent, reaching nearly 370,000 units. Growth was recorded in both the domestically produced vehicle segment and the imported car segment.
From a regional perspective, the highest sales activity was observed in Syrdarya Region, where growth reached 45 percent, followed by Tashkent Region at 36 percent, Namangan Region at 26 percent, and Kashkadarya Region at 21 percent. At the same time, a decline in new passenger car sales was recorded in the city of Tashkent, as well as in Navoi and Khorezm regions.
Sales of new Uzbekistan-made vehicles exceeded 315,000 units by year-end, while sales of new foreign-made cars amounted to around 53,300 units.
Electric vehicles emerged as one of the key drivers of market growth. In 2025, sales of new electric cars rose by 35 percent to reach 40,700 units.
Regional analysis confirms a high concentration of demand in this segment. The bulk of electric vehicle sales was recorded in the city of Tashkent, where around 29,000 new electric cars were sold, accounting for 71 percent of the national total. Samarkand, Tashkent, and Kashkadarya regions followed at a considerable distance.
