Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 13 December 2021, the Center for Economic Research and Reforms (CERR) hosted a meeting between the Director of CEIR Obid Khakimov and the business ombudsman of the Russian Federation Boris Titov. The meeting was organized with the participation of the Business Ombudsman of the Republic of Uzbekistan Dilmurod Kasimov.
During the meeting, the guest was informed about the current research of CERR. In particular, about the large-scale reforms carried out in our country, including the development of trade and economic relations, improvement of the investment and business climate. Information is provided on the measures taken to improve the business climate in Uzbekistan and the results of the CERR study on assessing the business climate in the country.
Throughout the year, CERR conducts a monthly survey among 1000 enterprises in various sectors of the economy (a breakdown by sectors of agriculture, industry, construction and services was introduced in July 2020). The survey clarifies the current state of the business, changes in demand for goods / services, dynamics of the number of employees, as well as the expectations of entrepreneurs about changes in the general state of their business and possible price changes in the future.
It was noted that the Center is conducting research work on assessing the impact and detailed analysis of integration processes within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the World Trade Organization (WTO), the International Trade Center, assessing the possible entry and impact on the sectors of the economy of Uzbekistan.
Boris Titov, Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs under the President of the Russian Federation, highly appreciated the socio-economic reforms and the business climate in the country being carried out in Uzbekistan. According to him, the Republic of Uzbekistan has serious economic potential and is the most important partner of the Russian Federation in Central Asia.
During the meeting, Obid Khakimov and Boris Titov exchanged views on the economic reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, their results, planned reforms in the economic sphere, measures to improve the business climate in Uzbekistan and the ongoing work to support entrepreneurship, protect the rights and interests of entrepreneurs, and develop social infrastructure.
Boris Titov, on his Instagram page, spoke about the meeting at CERR and shared his impressions.
“In the morning we were received by Obid Khakimov, Director of the Center for Economic Research and Reforms. We were told about a two-stage economic reform program. At the moment, large-scale transformations are underway in Uzbekistan towards the deepest liberalization of the economy, monetary and tax policy,” Titov wrote on his instagram.
On the same day, an international forum of the Commissioners for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs (Business Ombudsmen) of Europe and Asia took place.
