Central Bank of Uzbekistan Announces Liquidation of YANGI BANK and Guaranteed Deposit Payouts

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan has announced that, in accordance with national legislation, a Commission for the Liquidation of YANGI BANK JSC has been established and has begun its work.

Currently, a register of depositors is being compiled, with completion expected within eight business days.

Within two business days, the Deposit Insurance Agency will publish on its official website details regarding the amount of compensation and the agent bank through which payments will be made, tentatively scheduled for 28 January.

Under the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Guarantees for the Protection of Bank Deposits,” deposits of both individuals and legal entities are guaranteed by the state up to the amounts established by law. Compensation for guaranteed deposits of YANGI BANK will be made by the Deposit Insurance Agency in accordance with the established procedure.
