Central Bank of Uzbekistan and Bank of Korea Hold International Seminar on Balance of Payments

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in collaboration with the Bank of Korea, organized an international seminar focused on analyzing the dynamics of the country’s balance of payments and assessing systemic risks, the regulator reported.

The event was held under the Knowledge Partnership Program (KPP) of the Bank of Korea. Participants included representatives from the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, the Bank of Korea, and leading South Korean universities — Hongik University and Dongguk University.

Experts presented the results of a joint study aimed at a comprehensive analysis of the balance of payments, identifying key factors influencing its dynamics, evaluating external economic risks, and developing measures to mitigate them.

Special attention was given to the use of international analytical models and global best practices to enhance national methodologies.

According to the organizers, the seminar helped strengthen the analytical capacity of the Central Bank’s specialists, deepen practical and scientific knowledge, and adapt international experience to Uzbekistan’s conditions.

The event also aimed to reinforce the institutional capacity of the Central Bank in maintaining macroeconomic stability and to promote professional and scientific cooperation between Uzbekistan and South Korea.
