Central Bank fined 8 banks and 7 payment organizations in november

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  During nine meetings of the Central Bank’s Banking Supervision Committee held in November, a total of 32 issues were reviewed, resulting in corresponding decisions.

Thirteen of these issues were related to registration and licensing, including amendments to the charters of credit organizations (1 issue), issuance of auditor qualification certificates for conducting audits in banks (1 issue), granting permissions for ownership stakes in the authorized capital of credit organizations (3 issues), and reviewing candidates for supervisory boards, executive boards, and key personnel of commercial banks (8 issues).

Additionally, 19 issues concerning the financial condition of credit organizations were discussed, including compliance with Central Bank requirements, adherence to regulatory standards, and oversight activities within commercial banks. The discussions also covered the findings of inspections conducted at commercial banks and microfinance organizations.

As a result of inspections carried out at commercial banks, microfinance organizations, and payment institutions, 22 banks and 3 payment organizations were issued warnings regarding potential sanctions and measures for identified violations.

Moreover, penalties were imposed on 8 banks, 7 payment organizations, and 12 microfinance organizations for non-compliance with existing legislation, economic regulations, Central Bank directives, and violations uncovered during audits and inspections.

In addition, the Banking Supervision Committee designated 7 banks as systemically important for 2025.
