Central Asia-2019 International Conference to take place in Urgench

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, a press conference was held at the National Library of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi, dedicated to the XIII International Conference "Central Asia - 2019. Internet and library information resources in science, education, culture and business".

The event was attended by leaders and specialists of the National Library of Uzbekistan, employees of ministries and departments, and media representatives.

“This year, 26 experts from 10 countries will take part in the conference,” said Umida Teshabaeva, director of the National Library of Uzbekistan. - More than 80 articles were received from library specialists. They are included in the program of the event and a collection of articles. The conference will highlight and analyze in detail the current state of information and library institutions in our country, the problems they face in their activities, present plans for the future and develop mechanisms for cooperation. ”

The participants will exchange experience on modern trends in the field of book publishing, issues of familiarizing the population, and especially young people, with reading books, developing libraries, taking into account current trends and technologies, a series of master classes will be held to familiarize with the work of the software complex of the National Electronic Library UzNEL . Special attention will be paid to the development of measures to strengthen cooperation between the National libraries of foreign countries and CIS countries.

This conference is consonant with the fourth of the five initiatives put forward by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which is based on the task of improving the spirituality of the population, including through the introduction to reading books. In this regard, it is necessary to intensify the activities of information and library institutions, educational institutions, archives, museums and other organizations using electronic information resources in science, education, culture and business to achieve effective results.

It was noted that the annual holding of this conference in different regions of the republic will stimulate the revival and further development of the information and library sector. Also, this event can be a good springboard for young professionals in the field in terms of their professional and qualification growth, since it provides them with relevant knowledge that will contribute to the development of their creative potential.
