Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan prematurely terminated the powers of a member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan from the city of Tashkent, Jahongir Artykhodjaev.

“In connection with the early termination of the powers of a member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan from the city of Tashkent, Jahongir Artykhodjaev as a deputy of the Tashkent City Kengash of People’s Deputies and, in accordance with a written statement on the resignation of his powers as a member of the Senate, to consider his powers of the Senator prematurely terminated,” the decision says CEC.

“To exclude Jahongir Artykhodjaev from the list of members of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan,” the decision says.

On 16 January, Jahongir Artykhodjaev was dismissed from the post of khokim of Tashkent. Last week, he also resigned as a deputy of the Tashkent City Kengash of People’s Deputies.
