Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- It is no secret that yeast is a high-demand commodity that can be found in every kitchen in every corner of the world. High demand is the main reason for counterfeiting original products. Today, cases of selling counterfeit yeast have become more frequent.

The official distributor of Central Asia Distribution LLC contacted the Consumer Rights Protection Agency with a request to take the necessary measures to prevent the sale of counterfeit yeast:

"Angel Baker’s yeast dry active",

"Angel dough baking powder",

"Angel Baker’s yeast dry instant",

"The Trembling Baker Dream" on the counters of the country.

In order to identify and protect consumers from counterfeit products, the territorial departments of the Agency in the regions conducted 64 monitoring studies of retail outlets (markets, shops, stalls, etc.) throughout the country. According to the results, in 54 cases (85%) a counterfeit copy was sold. Employees of the Agency on detected cases of sale of counterfeit yeast record the name of the legal entity, as well as the address of the seller’s point of sale, after which the information is sent to the authorized bodies for taking the necessary measures.

It is important to note that the sale of counterfeit products is increasing due to low prices, which naturally attracts many consumers.

But the consumer has no information that yeast is a tenacious bacterium. Yeast production must be developed and produced in special laboratory conditions. If not produced in special laboratory conditions, yeast can cause negative effects in human health.

According to the Law, the consumer has the right to the safety of goods (work, services). Namely, that the consumer has the right to a guarantee that the product (work, service) purchased by him is manufactured or performed in compliance with the requirements of sanitary and hygienic, including radiological, anti-epidemic and other applicable norms and rules, and was safe for his life, health, the environment, and did not harm his property.
