Cancer control rooms, carrying out large-scale primary examinations among women on a regular basis, to be organized

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – In line with the President’s resolution “On further improving the system of providing hematological and oncological services to the population”, starting from 1 January 2022, prevention of the spread and early diagnosis of cancer among girls and women is carried out on the basis of the following national programs:

vaccination of adolescent girls aged 9–14 years with the human papillomavirus vaccine;

screening for cervical cancer among women aged 30–55 years and breast cancer among women aged 45–65 years.

From 1 January 2022, cancer control rooms will be organized as part of the antenatal clinics offices of district (city) multidisciplinary central polyclinics, which will carry out large-scale primary examinations among women on a regular basis.

From 1 July 2021:

- the costs associated with advanced training and internship by young specialists in the field of hematology, oncology, clinical immunology, transfusiology and laboratory areas in this area, in leading foreign scientific and medical centers, are fully covered;

- the costs associated with the passage of positron emission tomographic examination of patients on the basis of directions from state medical institutions specializing in oncology and hematology are covered from the State budget;

- the costs associated with the arrival of cancer and hematological patients from the Republic of Karakalpakstan and regions to the republican specialized centers by rail and air transport are fully covered by the funds of the respective local budgets.

Also, in order to improve the efficiency and quality of medical services provided to citizens suffering from hematological, oncological and hereditary immunological diseases, a system for maintaining an electronic list of patients will be introduced.
