Cameras no longer fine for driving over road markings — except for stop lines
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Starting from 1 June 2025, new rules regarding the automated recording of traffic violations related to driving over road markings will come into effect in Uzbekistan.
According to a government resolution adopted at the directive of the President and taking into account public appeals, such violations will no longer be automatically recorded by surveillance cameras.
Automated photo and video enforcement systems will no longer register cases of driving over road markings — with the exception of crossing the stop line (traffic sign 5.33), which will continue to be monitored automatically.
This change aims to increase fairness in the road monitoring system, provide additional convenience for drivers, and address pressing issues that had caused dissatisfaction among the public.
Nevertheless, if a violation is detected by a traffic inspector, it can still be processed manually according to the established procedure.
