Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 2 April, a bus on route No. 18 struck a 13-year-old girl on a dedicated lane on Shota Rustaveli Street in Tashkent. The incident occurred around 12:40 p.m., and photos and videos from the scene were widely shared on social media.

According to the company “Toshshahartanshizmat,” the vehicle was driven by a 51-year-old driver with 25 years of overall experience, including one year with the current organization.

Preliminary reports indicate that the girl was crossing the road outside of a designated crosswalk and against a red traffic signal.

The driver provided first aid to the girl and called an ambulance. Medical personnel transported her to the Republican Specialized Scientific-Practical Center for Emergency Medical Care.

According to the initial medical assessment, the girl has sustained a concussion and is currently under specialist observation.
