Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Kengash of People’s Deputies of Tashkent approved the budget of the capital and its districts for 2023. The chairman of the kengash and the khokim of the city, Jahongir Artykhodzhaev, signed the document on 4 January 2023.
Expenses of the capital (excluding districts) in 2023 are projected at 6.41 trillion soums, which is 4.43 trillion soums more than the forecast figure for 2022.
In particular, 54.18 billion soums will be allocated to the state unitary enterprise Poytakht Qurilish va Khizmat, which owned the Hyatt Regency Tashkent hotel before its privatization. Investment fund Abu Dhabi Uzbek Investment bought a hotel in November 2022.
Another 141.79 billion soums will be used to compensate for losses from free travel of pensioners in the metro from 10:00 to 16:00 and at maximum tariffs.
About 236 billion soums will be allocated to cover lost public transport revenues through the use of transport cards, as well as losses from cap fares and the provision of baggage transportation services.
Some 309.05 billion soums will be directed to the implementation of the Obod Mahalla and Obod Qishloq programs. These funds will be distributed based on public opinion through the Open Budget portal.
About 1.6 trillion soums are allocated to subsidize the losses of heat producers resulting from the use of reduced tariffs for heat supply services to the population.
It is planned to allocate 130.2 billion soums for the repair and renovation of elevators in apartment buildings in Tashkent.
About 35 billion soums were allocated for expenses to compensate for harm caused to citizens or legal entities as a result of illegal actions (inaction) of state bodies or officials of these bodies.
The Improvement Department will receive 474.7 billion soums, the Public Education Department - 287.9 billion soums, the Preschool Education Department - up to 44.8 billion soums and the Health Department - 1.85 trillion soums.
"Other expenses" will amount to 224.3 billion soums, of which 98.6 billion soums are planned to be allocated for indexation (increase) in heating and hot water costs.
