Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The first case of the "British strain" of coronavirus was detected in Uzbekistan. This was stated by the press service of the Ministry of Health.
The "British strain" of the coronavirus was contracted by a 10-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan who arrived from Dubai (UAE).
According to the ministry, the resident of Tashkent, who returned from Dubai with her family on 23 January, contracted the virus. A rapid test at the airport tested positive and she was transferred to an infectious diseases hospital. The rest of the family members did not have the coronavirus. They are in home quarantine.
The "British strain" of the coronavirus was detected after additional tests. The patient’s condition is assessed as satisfactory, there are no complaints.
The Ministry of Health called on citizens to observe sanitary and hygienic rules, as well as social distance in public places and use masks.
Also, the department asks citizens temporarily not to travel abroad unnecessarily.
