Botir Kudratkhojayev appointed as Uzbekistan’s Minister of Emergency Situations
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Botir Kudratkhojayev has been appointed as the new Minister of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the corresponding decree, as reported by the presidential press service.
Before his appointment, Kudratkhojayev served as Deputy Prosecutor General and Military Prosecutor of Uzbekistan since November 2022.
He replaces Abdulla Kuldashev, who had led the ministry since March 2022.
Under current legislation, ministerial candidates must be reviewed by the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis before appointment.
On 25 February, during a regular session, lawmakers considered and approved Kudratkhojayev’s candidacy for the position of Minister of Emergency Situations.
