Block of democratic forces stands for strengthening public health
As noted by the Head of State at the joint session of the Legislative Chamber and Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan on January 23, 2015 that the parliament discussions should be conducted on the principle of the most important socio-economic, political and substantive issues on a professional basis.
As you know, the Block of democratic forces unites the members of the factions of the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Businessmen – the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan (UzLiDeP) and Democratic Party of Uzbekistan “Milliy Tiklanish” and formed in order to develop a common position on the important issues of further deepening democratic reforms and formation of civil society in the country.
Within the preparation for the second reading, MPs discussed the new version of the draft law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On medicines and pharmaceutical activity".
At the meeting it was noted that reforms implemented in health system of our country would raise the provision of the population with quality medical services which is important in further strengthening public health and providing the population with quality and effective drugs, medical products.
Participants of the meeting stressed the urgency of developing this draft law which aimed at improving the regulation of relations between manufacturers and retailers, as well as providing the population with quality, safe and effective medicines.
During the preparation of this document for the second reading took into account the proposals from the factions of political parties and the deputy group of the Ecological Movement as well as studied and considered proposals from members of the government, experts of ministries and departments, representatives of NGOs and other civil society institutions.
Participants noted that this draft law is important to protect public health and in the development of pharmaceutical activities. It is necessary to improve the current regulatory framework taking into account the international standards. Therefore, practical proposals have been developed on some articles of the law. In particular, the introduction of regulations to control of expiry date, storage conditions, as well as the sale of medicines, ensures and guarantees their quality and availability.
At the meeting, MPs of the Block of democratic forces have suggested to introduce into law norm on the prevention of illegal traffic of drugs, falsification trade of low quality medicines, which will serve as the basis for strengthening health.
According to participants of the meeting, the adoption of the draft law "On medicines and pharmaceutical activity" in the new edition will contribute to further reform in health system, which is an important factor in ensuring the protection of public health.
By the results of the meeting, deputies approved the main position of "Bloc of Democratic Forces" and decided to provide recommendations to the Committee for the further development of the draft law.
