Bilateral meetings takes place with the participation of representatives of the business circles of Samarkand and St. Petersburg

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In the period from 5 to 7 October 2021, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, together with the Khokimiyat of Tashkent, organized a visit of a delegation from St. Petersburg led by chairman of the committee on external relations to Uzbekistan.

Also on 6 October, a meeting of the delegation with the Khokim of Samarkand region E. Turdimov was organized, during which issues related to the development of trade, economic, investment cooperation, as well as interaction in the field of labor migration, tourism and culture were discussed.

In addition, a number of areas for regional cooperation were identified, including in the field of training migrants in Uzbekistan for their further employment at enterprises in St. Petersburg, as well as the development of the Monocenter in Samarkand with the involvement of Russian specialists to train migrants in Uzbekistan.

In order to establish interregional cooperation on 6 October in the territorial administration of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Samarkand region, bilateral meetings were held with the participation of representatives of the business circles of Samarkand and St. Petersburg, as a result of which agreements were reached on the implementation of joint projects in the field of tourism, construction, as well as the export of agricultural products to the Russian market.

During the visit, for the Russian delegation, a visit was organized to an enterprise for the production of silk carpets and rugs, where issues of further export of manufactured products to the Russian Federation were discussed.

At the same time, in order to familiarize with the tourism potential and rich heritage of Uzbekistan on October 6 this year. for the members of the delegation of St. Petersburg, visits to the sights of Samarkand were organized.

At the same time, on 8 October, a plenary session of the business forum was held at the International Hotel Tashkent with the participation of representatives of the Business Community of St. Petersburg and the Republic of Uzbekistan. The key topic of the meeting was the further development of trade, economic, investment cooperation between the two countries and the strengthening of ties in the implementation of bilateral projects.

On behalf of St. Petersburg, the chairman of the Committee for External Relations E.D. Grigoriev, Chairman of the Committee on Labor and Employment of the Population of St. Petersburg D. Cherneyko, as well as other representatives of the responsible ministries and departments and business circles of St. Petersburg.

During the meeting, the current state and prospects of political, trade-economic, investment, financial-technical and cultural-humanitarian cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia were discussed.

Also, it was noted that Uzbekistan has made significant progress in the processes of liberalizing socio-economic institutions, improving the investment climate, increasing the transparency of the economy and business environment and other areas of reform.

During the dialogue, the parties outlined priority areas for further practical interaction. An agreement was reached to intensify joint work to increase trade between Uzbekistan and Russia.

The closeness of the positions of the two countries on regional and international issues serves as the foundation for the development of bilateral ties. The potential for engagement is enormous. It is important to effectively use mechanisms to promote initiatives in trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian spheres, innovative development, tourism and business.

The parties discussed topical issues of trade and economic cooperation and noted the positive dynamics of mutual trade.

In conclusion, the parties outlined further practical actions in the framework of the discussed areas of cooperation.
