Belarus and Uzbekistan Aim to Expand Trade and Investment Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During a meeting with Ilkhom Norkulov, First Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan, Belarusian Prime Minister Alexander Turchin highlighted the significant potential for increasing bilateral trade between the two countries.
“Analyzing the current performance of our cooperation, it is clear that there is room for growth,” emphasized the head of the Belarusian government, noting that Uzbekistan is a strategic partner for Belarus. He added that the current interaction goes beyond trade, with Belarusian businessmen actively investing in large-scale projects in Uzbekistan, including poultry processing and textile manufacturing.
Alexander Turchin also stressed that bilateral cooperation is developing intensively and covers various sectors. In particular, practice-oriented events are being organized, such as the Belarus–Uzbekistan Women’s Business Forum in Vitebsk and sessions of intergovernmental commissions.
The Prime Minister added that the Uzbek delegation has a full program of visits in Belarus, including meetings with leaders of various industries and major enterprises. All proposals and issues concerning the expansion of cooperation will be considered comprehensively to strengthen the interaction between the two countries.
