Bashkortostan Plans to Establish an Industrial Park in Bekabad

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Republic of Bashkortostan is developing a project to create an industrial park in Bekabad, which will form part of broader cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan in industrial and logistics development.

This was reported by Konstantin Zlygostev, the trade representative of Russia in Uzbekistan, during a press conference reviewing the results of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries in 2025 and outlining prospects for 2026.

As part of this cooperation, plans are underway to launch Russian technology parks in the Bukhara and Navoi regions.

Zlygostev emphasized that these projects also operate in the opposite direction. In April 2025, the first phase of the Fergana wholesale and distribution logistics center was commissioned in the Omsk region.

The center occupies approximately nine hectares and houses 16 warehouses for storing fruits and vegetables, more than 70 retail units, and parking for nearly 500 trucks. Total investment in the project is estimated at around $8 million, with further expansion of the complex planned.

Zlygostev highlighted the successful experience of technology parks in Charchilka and Jizzakh, which have hosted more than 30 residents from various countries, including Switzerland, Lithuania, and the United States, since 2022. In 2026, similar industrial sites are expected to launch in Bukhara and Navoi regions with support from colleagues in Tatarstan.

According to the trade representative, the industrial and logistics facilities being established create new opportunities for investment and joint development, fostering mutually beneficial cooperation between Russian regions and Uzbekistan.
