Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Acting Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov visited the village of Ovakent in Khatai, Turkiye on 18 February. The village was damaged by the earthquake.
It should be noted that more than 10,000 ethnic Uzbeks live in the village. Rescuers from Uzbekistan conduct search and rescue operations in the village. A mobile hospital of the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan is also installed here.
Bakhtiyor Saidov thanked his compatriots who came to the region to support local residents.
In Gaziantep, acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkiye Mevlut Cavusoglu. The head of the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan expressed condolences to Cavusoglu in connection with the numerous victims.
