Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 23 January 2023, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Tim Torlot.

The parties had a thorough exchange of views on the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral relations.

Mutual interest in intensifying economic diplomacy was expressed. In this context, the prospects for the implementation of specific joint investment projects, as well as the expansion of trade between the parties, were considered.

Certain issues of an international and regional nature were discussed, in particular, the interaction of the two countries in the Afghan direction.

The agenda of the meeting also included issues of developing partnerships in the scientific and educational sphere, establishing cooperation in the field of labor migration, expanding cultural and humanitarian ties and further strengthening inter-parliamentary dialogue.
