Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 1 April 2024, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, and a delegation from the People's Republic of China led by Liu Jianchao, Head of the International Relations Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

During the meeting, the parties discussed key aspects of the development of the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China.

Special attention was given to expanding cooperation under the "Belt and Road" initiative and enhancing transport and logistics connectivity between the two countries.

As a result of the talks, an agreement was reached to deepen coordination at the platforms of leading international organizations, including the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), in the interest of strengthening stability and sustainable development in the region.

Both sides confirmed their mutual interest in further expanding multi-faceted cooperation to meet the long-term interests of both countries.
