Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 18 January 2023, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov held talks with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to our country Hamid Nairabadi.

It was noted with satisfaction that in recent years Uzbek-Iranian relations have acquired a new dynamic of development. The importance of the comprehensive implementation of the agreements reached following the official visit of IRI President Ibrahim Raisi to Uzbekistan in September 2022 was emphasized.

An exchange of views took place on the schedule of planned contacts at the bilateral level and within the framework of regional organizations.

The closeness of the positions of Uzbekistan and Iran on the Afghan issue was stated.

The readiness of the parties to promote joint projects in the trade and economic direction was confirmed.

Particular attention at the meeting was paid to expanding cooperation in the field of transport, including through the development of new international transport corridors, taking into account the interests of the two countries.
