Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 3 November 2022, the Government of Japan decided to award Aziz Abdukhakimov, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun. This was reported by the Embassy of Japan in Uzbekistan.

"Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun" is the highest award and is awarded only to individuals who have achieved outstanding results.

The awarding of Aziz Abdukhakimov with the "Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun" confirms the recognition of his many years of contribution to strengthening friendly relations between Japan and Uzbekistan.

The Japanese government noted that Aziz Abdukhakimov made a significant contribution to ensuring the safety of Japanese citizens during the pandemic, and also, in 2019, was directly involved in the preparation of Uzbek President’s official visit to Japan, contributing to the strengthening of relations between the two countries.

Thus, the achievements of Mr. Abdukhakimov Aziz have become an important step in strengthening bilateral ties and developing friendly relations between the two countries.
