Aziz Abdukhakimov meets with the mayor of the Japanese city of Nagoya

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 27 July, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov received the Mayor of Nagoya City Takashi Kawamura in Tokyo.

Currently, Uzbekistan’s cooperation with the city of Nagoya is actively developing, in particular, within the framework of the partnership established in 2019 between the cities of Tashkent and Nagoya.

Takashi Kawamura said with great pride that the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the city of Nagoya is an unprecedented event in the history of the city and opened a new milestone in cooperation between the two peoples.

During the meeting with the mayor of the city of Nagoya Takashi Kawamura, the current state and prospects of bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of economy, culture, tourism and education were discussed. Issues of further deepening cooperation between the cities of Tashkent and Nagoya in such areas as economic cooperation, joint promotion of tourism potential, exchange of specialists, intensification of air traffic and other issues of mutual interest were considered.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached on the continuation of interaction between zoos, the exchange of specialists, the organization of joint events, including the "Days of Nagoya" in Tashkent with the participation of creative and sports teams from Japan, as well as deepening ties between local authorities, institutions and business communities of Tashkent and Nagoya.

It should be noted that on 19 December 2020, Deputy Prime Minister Aziz Abdukhakimov addressed the participants of the Tashkent Day forum in Nagoya online and congratulated them. The opening ceremony was attended by Nagoya Mayor Takashi Kawamura.
