Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Dear compatriots! 22 September  - World Car Free Day is widely celebrated in many countries around the world. It is estimated that more than 100 million people from more than 1,500 cities around the world quit cars on this day and travel by bike or on foot.

The idea of a car-free day originated in the UK in 1995 and quickly became popular around the world. Since 2000, 22 September is celebrated as World Car Free Day.

On this day, motorists do not use private vehicles for at least a day, and in some cities and countries special actions are held that promote the idea of walking, cycling, using public transport, as well as walking to work and rest.

The main goal of such events is to help reduce air pollution through various emissions from cars, as well as to promote walking and cycling. This will serve to promote a healthy lifestyle among the population.

I also encourage you to support this initiative and try to do this day without a car!
