Azimuth Airlines applies for permission to operate flights from Rostov-on-Don to Samarkand and Andijan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Russian airline Azimuth has submitted a request to the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) for permission to operate international flights from Platov Airport in Rostov-on-Don, which has remained closed since 2022. The information was disclosed in documents prepared for a meeting of the Interagency Commission on the Admission of Air Carriers, published on the agency’s official website.

According to the documents, the airline seeks approval for regular flights from Rostov-on-Don to Samarkand and Andijan (Uzbekistan), as well as to Aktobe and Atyrau (Kazakhstan), Jeddah and Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), and Dubai (UAE).

In addition, the company requested authorization for four charter routes, including destinations in Uzbekistan.

The list includes flights on the routes Mineralnye Vody – Samarkand – Rostov-on-Don and Sochi – Samarkand – Rostov-on-Don, as well as two routes to the United Arab Emirates.
