Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan Sign Emergency Ministries’ Action Plan for 2026–2027

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Azerbaijan’s Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel-General Kamaladdin Heydarov, held a meeting with Uzbekistan’s Minister of Emergency Situations, Major-General Botir Kudratkhodjayev.

The talks took place in Baku on the sidelines of the 26th International Conference of Fire and Rescue Service Leaders of the member states of the International Association of Fire and Rescue Services (CTIF).

Welcoming the Uzbek delegation, Heydarov emphasized that relations between the two countries, rooted in deep historical ties, have in recent years risen to the level of a strategic partnership.

He noted that close cooperation between the ministries continues to strengthen against the backdrop of a trusting dialogue between President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The parties discussed expanding collaboration in preventing and responding to emergencies, personnel training, and sharing best practices.

The Azerbaijani minister expressed confidence that the agreements reached would serve as a solid basis for further deepening cooperation.

Botir Kudratkhodjayev thanked the hosts for their hospitality and the high level of organization of the conference.

He stated that cooperation between the ministries is developing dynamically, contributing to improved public safety and strengthening the resilience of territories to natural and man-made risks.

The negotiations concluded with the signing of a Joint Action Plan for 2026–2027 between the emergency ministries of the two countries.

The document formalizes agreements on coordination, experience-sharing, and joint initiatives in the field of civil protection.

Following the meeting, the Uzbek delegation familiarized itself with the work of Azerbaijan’s Crisis Management Center, the departments responsible for digital technologies and innovation development, as well as the Ministry’s public relations service.

As part of the visit, Kudratkhodjayev will also visit several other ministry units to study their operations on the ground.
